I agree. the mushrooms plugs are ideal. I prefer them to the internal patch.
However, I have used a lot of the string plugs over the years for "temporary"
repairs, and have never had one fail. I tend to use tires a little harder than
most people. I confess I've plugged tires and forgotten about the plug until the
tire was worn to the wear bars and taken off. Never a problem.
