Oh, sorry. I don't have an automatic and I'm too lazy to dig up my helm
book right now, but you can read DTCs (diagnostic trouble codes) out of the
automatic transmission's controller much in the same way as for the
engine's ECU. If no one else posts how, I can look it up...but as I recall,
there is only one service jumper, and it makes both units blink out their
respective codes.

Obviously the meaning of the D4 light blinks will be different than for the
check engine light blinks, so there's a separate table. When you short the
service connection, does the D4 light blink, or light up, or nothing?
Again, I don't have an auto and my memory of the book is vague.

Anyone? Does the service connector cause an automatic to read out it's DTCs
as well, or is there a separate procedure for putting it in diagnostic mode?
