As already mentioned, it's often a question of the connector making bad
contact.. The electrical sensor pickup is mounted on and driven by the
same shaft as the power steering speed modulator shown here

on the top rear of the differential/clutch/torque converter housing. The
P/S modulator is easy to pinpoint by the two P/S fluid hoses attached to
it. The electrical part is shown here

seem to be two styles of part. If you take the electrical pickup off be
careful not to lose the little "joint" pin.
