Probably speed sensor. Could also be a bad connector. An Acura
dealer told me I needed a new speedometer after I had brought it in
thinking it needed a new sensor. I wasn't confident in their
diagnosis so I just left with it. They must have at least jiggled the
right connector because I haven't had the problem since and that was
three years ago. (The symptoms were that the speedometer wouldn't
work for the first 3 - 5 miles. Very consistent.)
