You know, I keep seeing that advice--but I've done this several times in
the course of screwing with the radio, and I've yet to see my very small
flat screwdriver by itself cause any problems.

If you don't have a particularly small screwdriver, or if you don't have
a particularly gentle hand, the credit card or rag idea is definitely a
good one.
