Default 92 Accord Radiator Fan

I have a 92 2 door Honda Accord LX WITHOUT A/C. Recently the radiator
fan stopped working. I hot wired the fan and it worked. I also
replaced the radiator fan relay with relays from cars in a parts
dealership. (The numbers were not exactly the same but the guy said it
should work)This didn't help. If I take the fan relay out and jumper
across, the fan comes on but is no good to me because it causes it to
run while the car is stopped.I also disconnected the temerature sensor
plug on the radiator and shorted the two pins and the fan would not
work. As everyone I talked to said it should. I measured the
continuity between the pins and there is about 5k ohms, the manual
said there should be none. disconnecting the fuse and the relay
does'nt make a difference in the contnuity.I traced the wire to a
connector and when I disconnect that, the continuity goes away and
then comes back after I re-connect. If it sounds like a short, I
wouldn't know where to run a wire to replace it as the manual is vague
on details. Any suggestions?
