I've had a 2003 Civic for about 2.5 weeks now and, somehow or other, probably
either from a shopping cart or road debris, I've ended up with some scuff and
scratch marks on the driver's side mirror housing. I know this sort of thing
is inevitable and I shouldn't even worry about it, but it irks me for this to
happen before I even have regular license plates on the car. Is there any
particular product that people here would recommend for this sort of thing?

The only thing I've tried so far is Crest toothpaste, since it has an extremely
mild abrasive and often works for fixing scuffed CDs. This has improved them
somewhat, but is there anything better?
