Re: 99 Civic low idle sometimes stalls
I have the same problem with my '94 Civic. The colder it is the lower
the idle speed (after warm-up that is). I don't know of a real fix, but
turning on the headlights seems to bump up the idle enough to make the
car drivable. There is an ELD (Electric Load Detector) in the under-hood
fuse box and when the ELD signals the ECM that the current draw is over
a certain threshold the ECM bumps up the idle speed by about 100 RPM.
