Hmm. I believe you might have misunderstood the arguments of the day (and my
post about it was confusing).
When Honda introduced the '99-'00 Civic Si coupe in mid-'99 (bought mine in
Sept. of that year), the ramh troll known as Crush spent lots of time
ragging on it and we countered those arguments (though I may have taken it a
bit too seriously).
"Greasy Crush" used satire to make fun of Crush's anti-VTEC/Si web pages. If
Crush's pages were still up, you'd see what I mean.

Anyway, Crush if you're out there, where's the warped sheet metal??? My car
is 4 years old with 60k miles and still no warped metal!
BTW, my Civic has given me not ONE single problem, though I do have an
expensive servicing coming up. It still looks and drives like new (amazingly
tight). The only thing I've done to it is replaced the factory speakers and
added an amp (hidden next to the spare tire) so the car looks exactly as it
did the day I drove it off the lot (minus 3 small door dings). It's been a
really good car and we've decided to keep this one for a long time.
