When they repaired the damage, it looks like they replaced the parts
with '98
pieces as the '99 'H' I bought was way too big to fit the bracket (for
that matter, neither did the '98 I bought to replace it. Cheap
aftermarket). The fender and bumper don't meet on the driver's side,
either.

That explains the gap between the one '99 light and the grill....The
other is a 98 light and fits perfectly. Thank goodness these parts are
dirt cheap in aftermarket. Looks like we'll need to replace some stuff
if we want it to be a true '99.
This car had had the rear lights removed and they were replaced with
'98's styling. I wonder if that's why the wrong parts were put on the
car? They thought it was a '98?
It confused the heck out of me, too, until I realized what they had
done.

Good head's up.

See above misalignment story....

Hmmm, I wonder if this is why it bows out on each side (under the gas
cap), or if that was a rearender they hid.

Are the years interchangeable, though? Will a '98 remote still unlock a
'99?

Great info, thanks!

Haven't found the adjuster for this. But then, didn't know about it,
either! Thanks!

I wonder if that's the little hole to the left front of the shifter that
looks like someone gouged it out?

Very kewl that you helped me this much.

Sounds like you'll be my main man for info about my newest project
car....

Thanks for another good head's up.

My 16 year old better not need this feature for a LONG while!!

Thanks so much, Greg, for answering my query. I'm new to this group and
hoped for a message just like the one you left!
