Case 1) Winter. left it on for a week since I never had had trouble with
91 Accord. Could leave bird crap on 91 Accord for weeks and it washed
off with no scar.
Result: mild crackling of paint over a 4 sq inch area.
Hard to see, but is there. Will not go away.
Case 2) Summer 30+ deg C heat. (85F?) As I am retired, I was checking
the car daily.
Round spot about 1/3" dia was suddenly noticed on hood.
When removed, had eaten to white primer. Could not have been there
for more than a day or so. (Car is pepper red, BTW.)
Case 3) Summer 30+ deg C heat. Spot on lower front of hood about 1/2" dia.
When washed off paint was crackled but not eaten through.
Again, could not have been there for more than a day or so.
When I'd bought the car I'd paid for "CBC Paint glaze."
Assumed it would perform as Diamond coat on 91 and whatever I had
on the 93.
Any one who sells a car whose paint can be ruined by ordinary
evvironmental events while the owner is away for two days is in real trouble.
Trust me. Two weeks maybe. But two days, no way.
My two sons have 93 Accords, one of which I formerly owned.
And I still own a 91 Accord SE.
No bird scars on any -- and non are washed often.
My third son has a 99 Protege (green) which he never washes.
Well, twice a year. There are no bird scars.
I have waxed the car but the damage is done.
I will be dealing with this in the appropriate manner.
