"Poppy-Cock". These sensors are decelerometers that use powerfull rare earth
magnets to generate an electrical signal when there is an impact and is
detected by a computer that in turn sends an electrical impulse to an
igniter in the airbag assembly. A laptop or cell phone wouldn't have the
slightest effect on the relatively strong field of the magnets.

Believe me when I tell you, your service manager is bullshitting you so that
you will assume the repair bill.
