Re: Maintenance required light
That list of stuff is NOT worth $165.
Have you tried simply opening the hood and looking at the fluid levels
yourself? Everything but the oil is in a see through container with MAX and
MIN marked on the side.
If the wipers don't smear when you use them, they pass inspection. Belts
will squeal if they need any help. Hoses & fuel lines will leak if there is
anything wrong with them (look under the car for drips/puddles, plus they
all have distinctive odors).
If your brakes need anything after the first six months, you need to go back
to driving school. Steering, alignment, suspension, parking brake are all
"inspected" by you every time you drive the car. Does it go straight if you
loosen your grip on the wheel? Does it make funny noises when you go over
bumps? Does the parking brake hold the car in place when set by about 5
clicks?
I can pretty much guarantee you that they do not spend 90 minutes on the
car. It might sit in their bay for 90 minutes. These canned "services" are
virtually always a rip off. Just look in your owner's manual and pay them
to do exactly what it says to do, no more & no less and put the rest of that
money in the bank for when it really needs something fixed.
