You could have bought an impact driver (about CAD$30 for a really good
one). After breaking my fingers for half an hour trying to loosen up
those screws on my 01 Prelude SE, I gave up and bought the impact
driver. It literally took 5 seconds to take out each screw.

The impact driver works in reverse as well, tightening the screws far
better than with your bare hands. And because of the way it works, there
is no chance of stripping the screw.
