All to often we bash the dealerships for shoddy work, over charging, and all
around negativity.
I leased an Accord last fall, '03 EX, and I was satisfied with the deal I
negotiated and the service I received. I take it to the same dealer for
service, oil changes basically, and got fine service from the service
department. Last oil change however, I noticed some spots where my wife
parks, she drives it 90% of the time, so I had her park in another spot of
the driveway. Sure enough, oil spots. So I take it to get it washed, and
noticed a slight flutter when I braked, right at the top of the pedal
stroke. Further, I noticed the rear headliner was beginning to fall down.
The later two things are not supposed to happen on a 9 month old car with
10k miles.
After one call to the dealer, I got in a day or two later (today), and just
got a call from the service department. The oil was a result of the crush
washer not seating properly, the manager apologized profusely, replaced the
washer, cleaned the underbody, and topped the oil (less then 1/2 qt.). Then
he told me he was replacing the entire headliner due to some broken clips.
Further, the brakes were turned, and new pads put on. All under warranty.
The dealer is Lia Honda here in Enfield. I can't speak for the other Lia
dealerships around, but this one deserved some good
PR.
