HOLY CRAP! Do NOT go with the H22. I have a Prelude. If you want to turbo, the H22 is about the worst thing you could do. You would first have to sleeve the engine, which is just extra money. Then you might be able to push 6-12 psi, which isn't a whole lot. When the engine gets older (if you don't already buy a used one) you'll start blowing rods. Pick up any tuner mag, get on any honda forum, you'll hear the same thing. If you're buying the engine new (refurb) then, yeah, you could sleeve it, drop the compression, and boost it enough to make you happy. But it's a time bomb. The D16 is another option, but it's not your only one. You can do a lot with Civics. One option, google search "G23". Some crazy dude in Cali got a H22 and an F24? (can't remember what F series that he used) drunk and developed their love child into the G23. It was in ImportTuner mag about 6 months ago. Or, you could hop on Honda-Tech.com and look at posts/ask members, and they can help you make a sound decision.
As for "Shawn" as soon as Chevy stops making the Cobalt "SS", I'll begin paying attention to them again. The Blue Devil redeemed them only slightly. Also, I'd like to see a 6cyl that boasts 2hp per cubic inch like the S2000's engine does. Furthermore, I don't want to look it up right now, but does the Malibu's trans linkage even match up? Maybe it does, but I'm too tired to look it up.
