I own a 2000 ex AWD, it's fantastic in the winter, it will plow through any amount of snow and it's a solid well put together little truck-let. If you can afford it, the 1999-2001 model years had a slight HP increase. Very reliable, all I've done is routine maintenance, an upper ball-joint on one side and a pair of sway bar links up front, for this I blame crappy Toronto streets as I had the same things go on my last vehicle. Don't forget to get all service records, it has a timing belt which is a$700 service to do including tensioner and water pump. This is something you can't ignore and if it's not done at this point it is over due. Regular valve adjustments are important on this vehicle and not expensive to do, something easily done when the Timing Belt is done.
