Your best bet is to replace the transmission with one from a good automatic transmission rebuilder. Don't let a shop try to rebuild yours as its not easy to do in a shop environment. Almost every one I see comes back for rework, so do yourself a favor and go with a quality reguilt.

depending on who does the installation, the prices will vary. Most rebuilt transmissions are about $750-1000 retail. they will come with a guarantee and the price varies on the length of the warranty. Sh0ps usually charge between $500 and $750 to install the transmission. So you'll wind up in the range of $1400-1750. Don't forget that there's tax as well.

junkyard transmissions are a crapshoot. Honda had problems with the V6 transmissions from 1998-2003 so the chances of getting a 'good' salvage unit are slim.

hope that helps
