I would suggest the K20 2.0L I4 from the Acura RSX, it has 200hp stock, and is quite easy to modify, with a turbo, ecu remap, etc. I helped a friend make the conversion with a 1998 civic ex coupe, he pulled the motor and transmission out of a wrecked '03 RSX, the entirety of the conversion was about $2900, parts and whatnot included. no turbo, just a CAI and a remap chip, dyno sheets show 196.3 hp at the front wheels, the little thing is a screamer.
