the short ram sucks the same amount of air as the cold air intake system the only difference is the temp of the air now the cold air system is further from the engine so its colder air BUT it is usually closer to the ground so if the road it wet your engine can inhale some water ........so the power to risk ratio says go short ram intake id go with apexi ive seen different brands all dyno tested and for my 89 supra the apexi came out on top and gave me a 14hp gain with the short ram also small increase in mpg but not that noticable
