hi there,i have a 2001 1.6L civic with manual gearbox. i have a habit
of leaving it in gear when parked on a slope as additional safety.

one day this week i parked on an exceptionally steep gradient, car
facing upward towards the peak. appartently i hadnt pulled the
handbrake tight enough and as i released the footbrake the car slid
back a foot.the car would slow down every few inches where i assume a
compression stroke was being done.

my car still works fine but i still wonder: does direction of rotation
matter in modern cambelt engines?
