My 2000 Saturn SL has 225,000 miles. The original shocks (struts) are not one of the things on my high priority list. This last go around, i could no longer get my front end aligned. I offered my mechanic cash, but still no deal. So, i'm expecting tires to last for shorter periods now. The ride is fine, and it still gets 48 MPG on trips. My '88 Mazda 626 has 290,000 miles. The original shocks (struts) are not one of the high priority items on this car. The engine smokes, and the idle never settles anymore. And gas mileage has plummeted from 42 MPG to 37.My '84 Saab 900S has 212,000 miles. The original shocks (struts) are not one of the high priority items on this car. The engine seized, and it's not going anywhere until i get another one. It hasn't used much gas since i pushed it into my garage. I've also got to fix the brakes. The left front doesn't disengage after you use it. But the body is in awesome shape. And, it's the only body on frame car i've got, and i really want a car that can tow my boat.Cars are not an investment. Feel free to put money into your car for your comfort.
