I just got a new Civic EX with automatic transmission, and I'll be watching
the gas consumption closely, as many people are these days. I'll post my
results here when I have some significant numbers--I only have about 100
miles on the car now, and most of it's been city driving.

A friend recently purchased a new Honda Civic coupe (not the SI) with an
automatic transmission and is getting only 31 mpg, highway. The car has
7000 miles so should be providing closer to the advertised 40 mpg. The car
is a commuter car that travels about 70 miles per day on the freeway.

Are other owners of the new Civic getting better gasoline mileage?
