Don't bother rebuilding! The cost of the parts themselves can be $500+, labor another $500-1000 and you still have to worry about the build quality. Most Honda dealers have contracted companies that do this heavy work - they would simple pull the engine, send it over to the contract shop, reinstall it, mark up the cost and return it.BEST BET: find a low mileage JDM importer - the specialize in bringing under 40k mile factory engines from Japan to the US. The Japanese are even more materialistic and buying new cars all the time - result, a glut of low mile, 7-15 year old cars still in good shape. A motor like your would only be about $600-900 for a FACTORY BUILT engine. Then swap it yourself or find a shop. Should only be $300-500 in labor but you may want to take the opportunity to look at other repairs like CV joints, new hoses, feul filter, etc.
