I have a 98 Honda Civic EX 2 door and the clutch is starting to make noise..I was told by my very trusted mechanic that the thrust bearing(not sure if this actual term..maybe release bearing??) is worn. The car has 131,000 miles on the orginal clutch. I knew it was going to have to be relplaced eventually because they don't last forever, and I know it's an expensive fix, but what is a "good" price for a clutch assembly kit? This couldn't occur at a more inopportune time...Murphy's law..I pay off the car in 4 months. Also, how long do you think I can go before the clutch gets too bad to drive? Right now it just makes a lite grinding like vibration when the pedal is out, but the sound goes away when pedal is pushed in.There are no shifting problems, no slipping, no need for double clutching. The car over all runs like it has 30,000 miles. Any help from you gear heads out there would be greatly appreciated!! =)
