throwout bearing would make clicking noise that went away when you put in the clutch. or it may make a noise only when you did push in the clutch.clutch and pressure plate usually are replaced as a set. sometimes you can tell they are bad if you have a very weak pedal. or under heavy acceleration you notice the RPM's climbing quicker then the car is moving.if they are completely worn out you probably can not put the car into gear while the engine is running. or you put it in gear, but when you release the clutch the car does not move.either way. all three of these components should be replaced as a set at the same time. usually sold as a clutch kit.
