Hard to tell. I have a 96 LX manual that we bought new. My wife drove it for the first 115,000, then handed it down to me. It now has 227,000 miles on it and is going strong. It sees redline frequently in the first couple of gears. Original clutch, transmission, alternator, starter. Replaced the exhaust once, timing belt twice, two driver's side window regulators, tuned up three times, and replaced an AC condensor at 120,000. 29-31 mpg tank after tank. It gets driven hard and put away wet. Does not use a quart of oil between changes (never change more frequently than 7,000 miles, sometimes as much as 12,000). Hands off straight at 80. It's like a kitchen appliance- need it, turn it on. Done, turn it off. I wish it would die so that I could justify buying an Element, but the darnned thing keeps working! 600 miles today in sub zero MN weather. Your experience may vary.
