I have an '03 CR-V with a towing spec of 1500 lbs.
I am considering buying a small trailer that may exceed that limit by
10% - 20%.

What aspect of the vehicle sets a limit on towing weight.
What happens if I exceed that limit by 10 or 20 percent.
