Best way to check on the cv joints is to find a flat surface, crank your wheels all the way (left or right) and then drive in circles forward and backward. If they are bad, you will hear a clicking that is fairly pronouced. With 209,000 miles, you could have multiple issues with your suspension so I would recommend having that check out asap. Your suspension / turning systems are a very important to your auto's safety so I would have it checked right away.
