Default Im about to buy a salvaged 2000 Honda Accord for 1500$ is perfect except trans. Is this a good buy?

Im going to buy a salvaged accord for just 1500$. It runs like a dream but the transmission slips. Honda will replace it for 2300$ with a 3/36,000 warranty. Could it be anything other than a worn out transmission? Could it possibly be fixed with a trans. flush or replacement of a module? I would like to hear some advice before I drop 2300$ into it. It has 80,000 original miles, cranks and runs fine. 1-5 gear is smooth until it warms up. After that it slips when changing gears but runs like a dream after going into 5th gear on the highway. What do you think?
