This is probably not a sign of an abused auto. 1997-2001 Accords w/ the V-6 had an inherent transmission problem Honda doesn't want anyone to know about. I had a 97 and at about 55000 miles the trans started slipping. After investigating the site I've listed for you, I found hundreds of owners with the same issue. American Honda replaced the trans free of charge for me but that's only after a dealer wanted to charge me $7000 for a trans! Also, look into this, but Honda started giving free 100,000 mile warranties on the trans because of this issue and it should be transferable! ASK the dealer if this is true. I am almost positive it is and then I'd buy it. You got yourself a steal!!
