Default DLT approved head lights....

Hey guys,

The most bizzare, messed up thing happened to me yesterday. I live in
Houston, TX and I had to get my car inspected. I took it to this sorry ass
shop that said it did State Inspections. They said that my headlights
weren't DLT approved (he looked at the bulb), and I failed and STILL had to
pay. I told these assholes that I've had the same headlights for the past 3
years and never got anything like that. My headlights are Xenon-like lights,
brighter than original Honda Civic 92 lights and have a cool blue tinge to
them. The originals were 60W-100W, these are 80W-100W.

So I went where I got my inspection last year and had no problem, but the
guy at the second shop saw that I was previously denied and asked me about
it. I told him the story and he's like yeah I was going to tell you
something. So I asked him what was DLT standards and he basically told me
that my low beams exceed what the standard highbeams are suppose to be. But
then I told him the old ones were 60W-100W and the new ones are 80W-100W. He
couldn't say anything, just gave me that look like "Oh, OK then."

So where can I find out what the hell the DLT standards are and try to get
my $40 bucks back?

Any form of feedback is appreciated,

Dave
