depends on where they are and what they do.any part that effects the operation of the engine (like pistons, valves, cams, manifolds, intake and components etc) alters the requirements of an engine. with some of these the standard engine management system can handle it and all ok. but once those parameters are gone past, its time to see a tuner.this level is different for all engines, if you dont know, see a tuner anyway
