idle speed sensor maybe?does it ever turn over repeatedly like its trying to start but wont. honda is my brand, but ive known several that are weakened by the fuel pump relay, or main relay. if this thing starts to malfunction it can cut the fuel supply intermittently. look up under the steering wheel, above the pedals and look for a grey box the size of a... umm, half the size of a wallet i guess. it might not be grey, could be black or whatever else. it should have a big plug with wires going into it. take it out and give it a sniff. if it smells burnt, get a new one. one for my prelude cost 80 bucks from the dealer but you can find one out of a civic at a junkyard for cheap. whack it a couple times on the ground and put it back in and see if that temporarily fixes it. other than that i dunno, maybe the throttle is getting sticky. lubricate and yank on it a few times.
