Cold air intakes are usually not CAI's at all but warm air intakes whereas people remove the stock airbox and replace it with a piece of aluminum piping and a conical style intake. Some go so far as to route other tubing to the wheelwell or to the front of the car somehow. Ram-Air usually consists of one or more vents located on top of the cars hood right in the path of the highest airflow allowing it to deliver more air to your filter than any CAI could and as we all know, the key to engine performance is letting your engine breathe better.
