the front and rear console have to be removed in order to replace the cup holder. there are three screws on each side of the console (front, center and side) and the gearshift that need to come out to remove the front and rear consoles as a one-piece unit. there are other screws that may have to come out if you needed to separate the halves or such but I think the 6 screws on the side are all that have to come out to get the console out.with the console out, there are three screws under the cupholder in the front that hold the cupholder assembly to the console. You remove those three screws to take the cup holder off as an assembly.you can take the cupholder apart to replace just the cup holder by taking the two screws off of the cover plate on the top of the assembly and removing the lock plate, then taking the screw off of the carrier.A picture is worth 1,000 words. i could get you a picture if you can send me your email address as I can't attach a file to a Yahoo answer. Just click on the icon next to my answer and select the Email link.hope that helps
