The Accord does not give as smooth a ride as the Camry. It's not built that way. It's built to have a more stiff suspension. But the trade off is the Accord handles much better. So, better depends on what you want? If you want to compare the Accord to American cars, then it's better than most but not all. If you start paying the big bucks for the bigger american cars or trucks, they will last as long as any Honda or Toyota. It's just marketing hype. Compare it to smaller american cars... well that's the new market and Honda and Toyota have cleaned up that market very well. They have mastered the art of putting quality into small spaces, while the americans are just trying to shrink what they already have but it doesn't work that way. If you want to compare Honda with Toyota, then Honda uses more gas but accellerates better, Toyota has smoother ride but doesn't handle as good, finally, Honda costs more than Toyota here in Canada.
