my sons civic battery light came on so we put in new alternator. He drove seven miles and light came on again so i tested alternator and it was putting out 20 volts, ruining alternator and battery. i got a new battery and alternator but didnt put alt. in but put battery in and checked static draw. it should only have 12-15 milliamps draw but is drawing clear off the scale. i tested continuity between unhooked pos and neg battery cables and have continuity so i have a short somewhere. i have looked everywhere i can think of but cant find a short. does anyone else know where to look?
