Basically the "V-tec" is just an acronym for Variable Valve Timing Technology" A v-tec engine has 2 Camshafts. Normally when the v-tec system kicks in @ 6000 rotations per minute (RPM) Both camshafts will active causing it to go faster.As far as the whole SI thing, This particular model is the sport version of a Honda civic.
