They're completely different vehicles, the CR-V is a larger vehicle that will burn a lot more fuel. If you can do without the AWD and the ride height of the CR-V get the Civic, it will be much more economical to drive, cheaper on gas and cheaper to buy. They're both great cars that will give you years of service.
