Honda has a rare commitment to quality that you do not find in the auto industry these days. With that in mind the word in the industry is--Honda over estimated the demand for the 2002 Civic SI with the euro type styling and with the Fit being similar in shape the Honda Corp did not contract with their suppliers for a huge amount of parts to build the vehicles. They were going with an initial release of about 100,000 units. The demand has been approximately 3.5 times the production or roughly 350,000 customers looking for these vehicles. Honda could be like every other automaker and ask their suppliers to ramp up production to meet the increased demand but you will then sacrifice quality and Honda is understandably reluctant to do that.Honda has done their math homework and they understand the demand and rest assured with the 2008 model year you can expect a much more plentiful inventory at almost every dealership. Our dealership has 8 or 10 of these vehicles on order and scheduled to be in stock over the next 6-8 weeks.Hang in there there will be more.
