1. Engines for this generation prelude cost less than $900 shipped. You should check and make sure that all of your ground wires a properly connected and that they are not corroded. A very common thing that happens with our generation lude is that when you buy an aftermarket Distributor Cap and Rotor, the screw for the rotor is cheap and loosens over time. Take you distributor cap off and check to see if the rotor is on tight. I'm pretty sure that that is your problem. If you wouldve broken your timing belt, you wouldve heard some valves crunching.
