I drive a 1996 Civic 4door LX auto ... I just Put a turbo in it, Running only 3 psi for now --- To answer your question there are a lot of parts that will fit civics from 1988 to 1998 or around there, . To start the ONLY BIG difference is the emissions control on the cars in 1996 all cars in the US had to be equipped with the new style OBD2 computers. this is one thing that is not compatible. BUT as far as the manifolds intake and exhaust the sizes are the same the. the mounts are the same. You could take a 1995 motor and put it into a 1996 and vice versa. with the Swap of the Computers. the main differences in the civic cars is the differences in the Si to the others, and VTEC. You can take a stock 1996 civic with the D16Y7 motor and put a VTEC head on it with the computer from a VTEC car Or other larger heads,(also know as a Frankenstein swap) To answer your main Question YES there are a LOT of things you can use in both a 1995 and a 1996-1998 by the way I an a Mechanic at 21 I primarily work on big trucks, Mack, International, ect but also mess around with cars
