I'm driving a 90 Accord that spent 10 years sitting in the Minnesota snow, just rusting away.... my friend got it for free, rebuilt the whole engine, and now it runs fine. 335,000+ miles on it. Currently, the only issues with my car, are related to rust b/c of being in the snow so long. The exhaust needs to be replaced, my brake lines eventually will have to be as well, and my windows don't work properly. But again, it's 16 years old, too!In short, Hondas are tough lil cars, and will last you forever. I'm not sure if there are any issues that are characteristic of Hondas (ex: Mitsubishi is reputed to have tranny problems). I've always heard good things.General maintenance? All I do for mine is oil change, tire rotation, etc.. Oh, and save money to replace all the rust :P Oh, but she's a good little car. Still runnin strong, still (mostly) in one piece.
