The Accord will be a much better road car. The reliability of the two will be almost exactly the same. Repair and maintenance costs, also almost exactly the same. The gas mileage will also be close to the same. Do the math for a similar powered car, Accord EX and Civic EX or Si. *Accord EX -- Will average about 27 mpg... $2.30/27 = $.08/mi -- 12,000 miles/year * $.085 = $1022*Civic EX -- Will average about 32 mpg... $2.30/32 = $.07/mi -- 12,000 miles/year * $.072 = $863. $160 difference per year, or $3 per week. Over 5 years, that's $800. (Avg. price of 87 is $2.30/gal. Avg. miles per year 12,000)If you want a better road car, go for the Accord. If you would feel the $3 difference per week, go for the Civic.
