I love my civic. I can fit in tighter parking spots. I can U-turn all day long without ever switching into reverse. I can drive ten miles to work, and then back home again with the gas light on the whole way in Phoenix rush hour traffic. I love my gas mileage, it's excellent. Which car is in better condition? That can affect your gas mileage too. Tire condition? Do the sellers know what the current gas mileage is on them? Which car got better routine maintenance? Which car do you think fits you better? You're the one who has to drive it. My Civic is the perfect fit for me and I wouldn't trade it for any other car on the market right now. I got it just before they changed the body style of the Civics. My last car was an old 88 hatchback Accord. It had been through hell & back, you could tell. I never bothered to figure out the gas mileage on it, I had an oil leak to worry about but that little bugger was still truckin at over 217,000 miles on it. The brakes were shot, it leaked oil, I had a window made of plexiglass bolted in like Frankenstein's monster, the paint was in bad shape, the car had "cancer" from living up north, no AC and that thing would've kept on trucking if I wanted to pay 2000 to fix the brakes. I only paid $400 for that car in the first place. Honda gave me $500 trade-in on it when I bought my '04 Civic. IF this car ever finally gives up on me, my next vehicle will be a Honda too. My Civic should live to see at least 10 years old, especially with the routine mainenence being done right. An Accord or CRV will too though.
