Type-R is a hand built engine block and was built in limited quatities by a select number of Honda engineers. Which means that they are one-of-a-kind.GS-R is like a regular Integra engine tuned to run VTEC like a Type-R. But when it comes to building them up you can get more torque out of a GS-R than you can from a Type-R. Although the Type-R will give you more horsepower. So in terms of convienience the GS-R is better. But in terms of going all out for power the Type-R rules hands down.
