Normally a standard transmission is faster because you can "launch" it at a higher rpm and shift at better points .Some cars auto trannys have got real good and it will be very close , but intregra is a good example of atleast a 1 sec 1/4 mile time difference , you do get more consistency with auto , but it isnt near as fun to drive either .
