there is a difference with a short ram your sucking in hot air while a cold air you get cold air. the con about gettin a cold air is the chance of hydro lock (sucking in water) which wont happen unless you get the whole intake in a pool of water. so if you live in a place where it doesnt rain much like cali then your fine.
