It sounds like air conditioning system is causing the problem. If you have a restriction in your air conditioner lines it will create high pressure and put a heavy load on the engine. The a/c is probably turning on and off because the high pressure switch is detecting excess pressure and opening the circuit until the pressure reduces to a safe pressure. Sounds like you need to go have the a/c system tested.If you have gauges you can test it yourself.Good Luck!
